About the Company

Our client is delivering a major section of one of the UK's largest infrastructure projects, supporting the development of the country's new high-speed rail network.

Working as part of a joint venture made up of several leading international civil engineering contractors, the organisation brings together specialist expertise across design, construction and large-scale infrastructure delivery.

The project spans approximately 80km of the new rail link and includes significant civil engineering works such as viaducts, tunnels, bridges, road diversions and large-scale earthworks. It represents one of the most ambitious infrastructure programmes currently being delivered in the UK.


About the Role

As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will play an important role in ensuring quality standards are maintained across construction activities.

Working closely with construction delivery teams, you will support the planning and implementation of inspection and test plans, ensuring quality compliance throughout project delivery. You will promote a strong culture of quality assurance, encouraging teams to take ownership of inspection processes and construction records.

The role will involve collaborating with project teams, designers and client representatives to ensure documentation, quality processes and inspection records meet project requirements and industry standards.


The key requirements for this Quality Assurance Engineer role are:

- Promote the importance of quality assurance within construction delivery teams
- Support the development and implementation of Inspection and Test Plans
- Ensure inspection documentation and records are captured accurately during construction
- Review and verify quality documentation in line with project procedures
- Work with project teams to ensure construction methods align with inspection requirements
- Liaise with designers, client representatives and internal teams on quality assurance matters
- Support handover and completion teams by ensuring documentation is complete and compliant
- Carry out internal audits and quality surveillance activities
- Deliver awareness sessions to project teams on quality systems and processes
- Support wider quality initiatives and promote right first time delivery across the project


Experience required for this Quality Assurance Engineer role are:

- Experience working within quality assurance on construction or infrastructure projects
- Understanding of inspection and test plans within construction environments
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities across complex projects
- Experience working collaboratively with construction teams and stakeholders


Desirable knowledge, skills and experience for this Quality Assurance Engineer role are:

- Experience within rail infrastructure or major civil engineering projects
- Quality related qualification or professional membership
- Internal auditing experience ideally aligned to ISO 9001 standards
- CSCS card holder
- Full UK driving licence
