We are recruiting a QA Engineer to support a long‑term 75‑week town centre redevelopment project in Halifax. The scheme includes major public‑realm works such as landscaping, paving, street furniture, street lighting, and associated civils upgrades.

The setting out on this project is already completed — your primary responsibility will be to check, verify and ensure all works meet the required specifications, tolerances and project standards.

This is a long-term, stable role with early involvement available from mid‑March, ahead of the main project start in mid‑April.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out quality assurance checks across all civils and hard‑landscaping works.
  • Verify that completed works match approved drawings, design specifications and required tolerances.
  • Complete and maintain QA documentation, including inspection records, check sheets, and site reports.
  • Review subcontractor workmanship and ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Liaise with Site Management, Engineers and Supervisors to resolve any non‑conformances.
  • Monitor installation of paving, kerbs, street furniture, street lighting, ducting, drainage and public‑realm finishes.
  • Work with CAD to review drawings, mark‑ups and as‑built information.
  • Provide technical support on site where required.

Requirements

  • Experience as a QA Engineer / Site Engineer in civils, public realm or infrastructure works.
  • Must have own kit:
    • Total Station
    • CAD capability (AutoCAD or similar)
  • Strong understanding of project specifications, tolerances and technical standards.
  • Ability to produce accurate QA documentation and reports.
  • SMSTS preferred (not essential).
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.

Package

  • Long-term contract (75 weeks).
  • Start mid‑April, with early onboarding or preparatory works available mid‑March.
