Job Title: Project Manager

Location: Edinburgh

Day rate: £500 - £550p/d outside IR35

Contract: 12 months initial contract

Start: Start of June

 

A fantastic opportunity for a Project Manager has arisen to work for a Principal Contractor managing the cabling package on a Power and Energy project.

 

Key responsibilities for this Project Manager role:

  • Ensure the team maintain accurate project records
  • Prepare internal reports and provide regular information to be included in client progress report
  • Responsible for the safety and welfare of the general public, employees and supply chain
  • Lead risk/opportunity reviews, present the Risk Register and recommend/implement changes
  • Log and escalate any issues that cannot be resolved at delegated level of authority
  • Assist the procurement and commercial team
  • Manage subcontractors and suppliers, including monitoring attendance and progress, providing direct instruction and support as necessary, such that contractual arrangements are achieved
  • Identify at the earliest opportunity any delays that are impacting the programme so that the appropriate notices can be raised (EWNs and CENs)
  • Ensure that expenditure is in line with the budget and that resources are utilised efficiently to ensure cost control.

 

Experience / qualifications required for this Project Manager role:

  • SMSTS (essential)
  • APM
  • 3 day first aid (essential)
  • M&E background
  • Commercially astute – NEC contracts
  • Relevant industry experience - substations, cabling
  • Proficient in commercial/project management communications
  • Able to communicate effectively both verbal and written with all levels of the organisation – operationally skillset
  • Highly skilled in change management
  • Holds a current driving licence
