Location: Plymouth

Salary / Benefits

£40,000 - £50,000 dependant on level of experience plus package including

Company Information

An internationally acclaimed company that specialise in the design and manufacture of rail engineering technology is looking to hire a Production & Facilities Coordinator to support their operations by ensuring compliance with H&S, coordinating external contractors and maintaining facilities records, as well as assisting with production troubleshooting. This role is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of health and safety regulations, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to liaise with contractors and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Production Support:

  • Supporting Production activities, follow up on resolutions, suggest improvements and ensure any production disruptions are addressed efficiently. Work with Production manager, Engineering and Quality to improve/support existing and new processes.
  • Write SOI's, Engaged in Continuous Improvement activities, specify Production tooling.
  • Being knowledgeable of key aspects of the Coiling Machine and the VERSE and Magnet build/test/calibration processes as back-up resource to the Production Setter/Technicians.

Facilities Coordination:

  • Maintain the facilities database, ensuring service inspections and maintenance are up to date and compliant with current legislation. Liaise with contractors for planned servicing and repairs and planning of major facilities works/improvements. Review 3rd party RAMS/Method Statements prior to works commencing, Issue Permit to Work for contractors.
  • Health & Safety Support: Creating and reviewing/updating Risk Assessments, assist with compliance checks and support a safe working environment

To be suitable for the role you will have:

  • Proven experience of leading Manufacturing processes including Operational excellence (Lean) and continuous improvement
  • Experience of working with ERP/MRP systems - create and follow Works Orders, BoM's, Standard time study
  • Engineering knowledge 
  • Experienced in creating, reviewing and controlling Risk Assessments
  • Hands-on and "can do" attitude, with flexibility regarding working hours (occasional weekends to support contractor access)
  • Organised, detail-oriented, and proactive in problem-solving.
  • Ability to work autonomously but also have the ability to effectively work within a team environment Strong communication skills

Desirable 

  • Recognised Engineering qualification 
  • Recognised Health & Safety qualification
