Principle Project Engineer - M&E

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Principle Engineer to join an exciting project, with a major tier 1 client.


Key responsibilities for the Principle Project Engineer - M&E role:
- Manage Safety on site, in conjunction with SHESQ & Foremen/Engineers/Supervisors
- Communicate with rest of site team including engineers, site managers, foremen, quantity surveyors and safety officers to ensure full understanding of information.
- Resolving technical problems at all levels.
- Carry out inspections in accordance with the Inspection and Test Plan in a timely manner.
- The production of survey information and red - lined drawings for the completion of the As-built records.
- Ensure equipment is calibrated, in date and suitable checked in accordance with company policies and the manufacturers' defined requirements.
- Ensure the site diary is accurately maintained noting against each record the date, location and serial number of equipment used.
- Ensure construction operations are carried out in accordance with the Contract requirements using the appropriate agreed procedures.
- Co-ordination and supervision of Sub-contractors in the performance of the Works.
- Ensure all materials on site are suitable, stored in line with manufacturer's recommendations current working practice, contract specification or project requirements.

Experience required for the Principle Project Engineer - M&E role:
- MUST BE happy to travel to Cardiff site 1/2 days a week
- Ideally - Degree/qualification in engineering or engineering related subject.
- Proven experience in rail engineering projects.
- Ability and confidence to discuss engineering issues with people across various levels and disciplines.
- Excellent knowledge of current M&E engineering legislation as well as Health & Safety and Environmental legislation.
