Location: Saxmundham (project in the Friston area)
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time (40 hours - Mon-Fri)
Salary: Up to £70,000 + £4,700 car/car allowance

Overview
We're recruiting an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor (or strong Senior QS ready to step up) to lead the commercial function on a major substation civil engineering project in the Friston area. This is a high-profile infrastructure scheme where you'll shape commercial strategy, ensure contractual compliance, and drive value across the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all commercial activities including cost control, forecasting, and reporting.
- Manage subcontractor procurement, negotiation, and performance.
- Oversee valuations, variations, change management, and final accounts.
- Provide strategic input on risk management and value engineering.
- Work closely with delivery teams to protect margins and ensure NEC contract compliance.
- Produce accurate, timely commercial reports and present to senior stakeholders.
About You
- Proven experience as a Senior or Managing QS within civil engineering/infrastructure.
- Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts and commercial management principles.
- Confident negotiator with excellent analytical and communication skills.
- Capable leader, able to manage priorities across a live project environment.
- Solid track record in change management and stakeholder management.
- Degree in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent).
- Experience with M&E interfaces/contracts is beneficial.
