Location: Alfreton, Derbyshire


Salary: Circa £50,000 - £60,000 plus package including:

- Car allowance,
- Discretionary bonus scheme

Summary

A specialist in fencing and vegetation management working with leading civil engineering contractors, highway authorities and rail networks is looking to take on a HSEQ Manager in their Derbyshire office to lead the business in Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental issues

As HSEQ Manager you will act as the "Health, Safety, Quality & Environmental Conscience" for the company, ensuring that legislation and standards are complied with and, advise the Director responsible for safety on changes in legislation, results of safety monitoring, etc

Principle Accountabilities will include (Not exhaustive):

- To assist the Director responsible for safety, by providing advice on health, safety, quality and environmental issues involving the company.
- Advising on changes in legislation or standards affecting Health & Safety and the Environment
- Reviewing the company systems and processes to ensure that they are fit for purpose.
- Liaising with other business areas over the supply and maintenance of fencing company plant & disposal of fencing company waste
- Developing the ALO management process, documentation, and safe systems of work
- Liaison with industry stakeholders
- Oversee the controlled distribution of key company documents concerning safety, quality and the environment.
- Investigate major or high-risk accidents and incidents and prepare a report.
- Carry out and document risk assessments

Candidate Specification

  • Experience working in a similar role in HSEQ with minimum of 3 years in a railway environment.
  • Health and Safety experience to NEBOSH Diploma level
  • Experience of managing PC License and RISQS audit
  • Hold Quality & Environmental qualifications.
  • Internal Auditor 9001
  • Hold Personal Track Safety (PTS)
  • Practitioner Member of IEMA

Desirable

  • Knowledge of fencing types, erection methods, etc. in a railway environment.
  • Knowledge of tree felling and de-vegetation methods in a railway environment.
  • CMIOSH
