Job Title: Health & Safety Manager

Navartis is currently working with a leading infrastructure contractor who is seeking a Health & Safety Manager to join their team and play a key role in driving health, safety, and environmental excellence across rail and wider infrastructure operations in the South West region.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing HSQE team within a well-established organisation undergoing continued growth in the rail sector. The position will suit an experienced H&S professional who enjoys a balance of site engagement, client liaison, and strategic input.
Key Responsibilities:

Act as the key point of contact for health & safety matters within the infrastructure division, with a primary focus on rail projects

Conduct internal audits, inspections and ensure compliance with company IMS and industry standards

Advise senior leadership on legal compliance and best practices

Lead on accident and incident investigations, identifying root causes and driving improvements

Support delivery teams with project-specific risk assessments and safe systems of work

Collaborate with client HSQE teams to ensure a joined-up approach to safety on joint ventures and frameworks

Deliver behavioural safety programmes and toolbox talks alongside the L&D function

Monitor and close out non-conformances and support continuous improvement initiatives
Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Strong background in H&S management within the rail or wider infrastructure sector

NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) and IOSH (Certified or Chartered)

Demonstrable experience with site audits, risk assessments and safe systems of work

Track record of liaising with regulatory bodies, clients and operational teams

Confident in leading investigations and reporting on findings

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a proactive, solutions-focused approach

Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regionally
