Health and Safety Lead

Our Clients a (Tier 1) Main contractor  require a Health & Safety Lead to provide a broad range of support and coordination services to the respective in creating a safety culture across all your sites ensuring that best in class health, safety is planned, implemented and shared effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills.
  • Assist the BU HSE Manager in the consistent roll out of company strategy and expectations within SOPs, Guidance etc.
  • Alert your line manager if there are signs of deterioration or lack of ownership to delivering expected Sisk and / or bespoke client safety requirements.
  • Carry out high quality safety inspections of Sisk workplaces at a frequency and with the intrusiveness as coached by the BU HSE Manager.
  • Perform risk reviews in absence of BU HSE Manager. Contribute to risk reviews.
  • Understanding unique client requirements and tailoring management system with line manager approval.
  • Attend sites following accidents/incidents and assist with the investigation. In the absence of the Project Director lead the investigation.
  • Liaise with law enforcement if they arrive at the site on a routine visit or to investigate an incident.



Experience & Skills

  • 5 years as a Health and Safety professional preferrably within the construction industry.
  • Lead on improvement initiatives
  • Interpersonal & Engaging skills
  • Be inquisitive in root cause outcomes.
  • Lead on improvement initiatives
  • Effective and confident training provider.
  • Time Management.
  • Organisation Skills.
  • Managing & developing trainees while delivering appropriate training
  • IT Literate 



Required Qualifications/Training

  • Construction Diploma or equivalent.
  • NVQ Level 4 / EFQ L5 on Occupational Health and Safety or Equivalent.
  • Internal Auditor
  • Mandatory aspects of L & D directory
  • Incident Investigation Training
  • SEATS for Managers or equivalent IEMA programme.
