They are seeking a talented Mining/Geotechnical Engineer to join our team and contribute to their continued success.

Position Overview: As a Mining/Geotechnical Engineer, you will be a vital part of our engineering team, responsible for developing and implementing strategies related to foundation engineering, shaft planning, and mining planning. Your expertise in geotechnical engineering and mining operations will drive efficiency, safety, and excellence in our projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Patricipate in geotechnical investigations and studies to evaluate soil properties, rock mechanics, and slope stability for various mining and foundation projects.
  • Plan and design optimal foundation systems, considering factors such as soil conditions, load requirements, and environmental impacts.
  • Develop and implement shaft planning strategies, including excavation methodologies, support systems, and safety measures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create comprehensive mining plans that maximize resource extraction and operational efficiency.
  • Utilize geotechnical and mining software tools to analyze data, model scenarios, and optimize project outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization in mining operations, ensuring safety and environmental compliance.
  • Evaluate and recommend appropriate equipment, materials, and techniques for geotechnical and mining projects.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports, presentations, and documentation for internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and team members.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes related to mining and geotechnical engineering.
  • Foster effective communication and collaboration with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mining Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 1 yearr of relevant experience in foundation engineering, shaft planning, and mining planning.
  • Strong proficiency in geotechnical analysis software (e.g., Rocscience suite, PLAXIS, FLAC) and mining software (e.g., Surpac, MineSight, Vulcan).
  • Solid understanding of geotechnical principles, rock mechanics, and soil behavior.
  • Experience in developing and implementing geotechnical and mining optimization measures.
  • Fluent in German and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.

Location: This position is based in Sondershausen, Germany and icludes international travel.
