Why this role?
You'll be at the heart of the decision-making process, providing accurate land and construction cost estimates, advising on risk, and helping secure the most profitable land opportunities. Your expertise will directly influence the success of regional projects.
What you'll do:
- Assess land viability and costs, including purchase price, legal fees, site prep, and environmental factors
- Produce detailed construction cost estimates and financial appraisals
- Visit sites to identify constraints and guide pricing strategies
- Collaborate with technical and commercial teams to explore cost-saving solutions
- Present findings and recommendations to senior management
- Keep records and cost assumptions up to date for future projects
What we're looking for:
- Extensive experience in land appraisal, estimating, or commercial/groundworks in residential development
- Strong knowledge of construction techniques, challenging ground conditions, and building regulations
- Proficiency with estimating systems (e.g., Bluebeam); COINS experience is a bonus
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Commercially minded, resilient, and able to manage multiple priorities
