About the Role
As an Engineering Planning Manager, you will play a key role in coordinating and planning engineering deliverables across multiple anaerobic digestion projects. Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you'll ensure that all engineering outputs align with overall project milestones and are delivered to programme.
This is a critical position within the business, requiring strong organisation, technical awareness and the ability to identify and mitigate risks before they impact delivery. You'll work across mechanical, electrical and control disciplines, ensuring engineering activity supports wider EPC and construction objectives.
This role is well suited to someone with AD or EPC experience who enjoys ownership, coordination and influencing project outcomes.
The key requirements for this Engineering Planning Manager role are:
- Develop and manage detailed engineering programmes using Microsoft Project or similar platforms
- Plan engineering activities and sub-activities across multiple live AD projects
- Identify critical path activities and ensure engineering deliverables support overall project milestones
- Regularly update programmes and highlight risks to the Head of Engineering
- Mitigate schedule risks through proactive planning and coordination
- Ensure alignment between engineering, procurement and construction deliverables
- Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors and site teams to maintain delivery timelines
- Coordinate multi-disciplinary engineering packages including mechanical, electrical and C&I
- Compile final technical documentation including as-built drawings, FAT and SAT documentation and O&M manuals
Experience required for this Engineering Planning Manager role are:
- 5 plus years' experience within anaerobic digestion, biogas, biomethane injection or EPC project environments
- Experience planning engineering deliverables across multi-disciplinary teams
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical and control engineering packages
- Proven experience using Microsoft Project or equivalent planning software
- Strong organisational, coordination and time management skills
- Experience identifying and mitigating project risks
Desirable knowledge, skills and experience for this Engineering Planning Manager role are:
- Knowledge of CAD and 3D modelling tools
- Experience in root cause analysis methodologies
- Understanding of electro-mechanical boundary conditions on major plant packages
- Previous exposure to biomethane injection infrastructure
