I am recruiting for one of the UK's leading providers of construction and engineering services to the rail sector and they are looking to hire a Commercial Administrator / Estimator to utilise market knowledge, skills and experience to develop and grow existing and new areas of business for the business' UK manufacturing facilities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for generating and submitting quotations, bids and tenders to meet customer's requirements and business needs and assisting the Commercial Manager

To be suitable for the position

- Estimating in manufacturing environment.
- Educated to BTEC or equivalent NVQ level 5 in a relevant manufacturing / commercial discipline.
- Demonstrable experience of a manufacturing commercial environment with a proven track record in delivering accurate commercial information on time.
- Ability to add value, reduce costs and make business improvements.
- Proven product and industry knowledge.
- Experience of operating and influencing at a strategic level.
- Knowledge and technical understanding of manufacturing / commercial processes, components and techniques.

General Duties Overview

- Develop accurate and consistent quotations, bids and tenders with the help of relevant departments.
- Maintain sustainable and productive relationships with existing clients and suppliers.
- Assist with other commercial activity including contract negotiations, liaison with production planning, suppliers and customers.
- Maintain relationships with current clients and identify new prospects within the area of responsibility.
- Collaborate with design and sales teams to ensure requirements are met.
- Establish effective procedures for order receipt and translation of customer's requirements into purchase and works orders requirements.
- Standardise cost estimating processes to ensure information submissions for quotations, bids and tenders is accurate and timely.
