Civil Engineer – Structural Engineering (Tunnels & Foundation Engineering)
Locations: Berlin

Your Responsibilities

In this position, you will support the delivery of sophisticated structural engineering projects, particularly in the areas of underground construction and foundation engineering. Your key tasks will include:

  • Contributing to and managing structural engineering assignments, with a focus on tunnel structures, trough constructions, and specialist foundation works
  • Developing structural concepts and performing detailed design calculations for complex infrastructure across all project stages
  • Designing and analysing foundation systems such as excavations, retaining walls, and ground support structures
  • Working closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure efficient and high-quality project execution

Your Profile

You combine solid engineering expertise with practical project experience:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering (Dipl.-Ing. or M.Sc.), ideally with a specialization in structural engineering or geotechnics
  • Approximately 5–10 years of professional experience in structural design and analysis
  • Experience with tunnels, trough structures, retaining systems, or specialist foundation engineering is highly desirable
  • Confident use of industry-standard structural design software
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within teams
  • Independent and well-structured working approach
  • Fluent German and good English language skills
  • Interest in sustainable construction methods and digital design approaches such as BIM

Your Working Environment

You will join a civil and infrastructure engineering team engaged in a diverse portfolio of projects, primarily across Northern Germany. The team focuses on the design of underground and structural systems, including tunnels, retaining structures, and other complex engineering works. In addition, projects may extend into hydraulic engineering, such as quay walls and lock systems. Collaboration and knowledge exchange across disciplines are key elements of the working environment.
