Salary: £70,000 - £80,000 plus company bonus

About the Role
This is a new and dedicated role for the business where you will be operating as a senior level appointment. As Business Development Manager, you will lead the company's growth strategy across infrastructure and sustainable engineering markets. You will identify new opportunities, build long-term client relationships and support the conversion of pipeline activity into secured work.
This is a strategic and hands-on role, working closely with directors and engineers to ensure business development activity aligns with technical delivery capability. You will play a key part in shaping market positioning and securing future frameworks and projects.
You will be given the freedom to develop your own strategy and attack the role as you see best. Our client is however looking for a technically minded individual who can "talk shop" confidently with clients. Knowledge of building CRMs, Tradeshows & presenting will be useful to the role.
A key measure of success will be bringing on 2 new major clients within their areas of expertise, rail and energy.

The key requirements for this Business Development Manager role are:
-    Develop and implement business development strategies aligned with company objectives
-    Research market trends and identify new opportunities within sustainable infrastructure
-    Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners and industry stakeholders
-    Represent the business at networking events, exhibitions and industry forums
-    Lead pre-qualification questionnaires, tenders and bid submissions
-    Prepare proposals, presentations and marketing materials
-    Manage business development pipeline reporting and forecasting
-    Work closely with technical teams to align commercial strategy with delivery capability

Experience required for this Business Development Manager role are:
-    Proven experience in business development within engineering consultancy, infrastructure or construction
-    Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills
-    Commercially minded with the ability to identify and convert opportunities
-    Experience managing multiple bids and deadlines
-    Strong written and verbal communication skills
-    Ability to engage confidently with technical teams and senior stakeholders
