Train Performance manager

Job Description

KEY RESPONSABILITIES:
- The role requires the technical authority for a project within the TRAXX product family with focus on:
o technical decision with Project and Product leads
o Risk & Opportunity Management
o Product development and planned modifications within a Project
o evidence planning wrt TSI's/NNTR's and Norms/Standards
o resolution of technical open issues during train revenue service
- Responsibility to ensure that the train performance meets customer, operational and regulatory requirements in accordance with product safety, the project objectives for quality, cost and duration and cybersecurity
- The TPM drives actively the further development of TRAXX products together with Product Management and Sales & Marketing
- Give support to the roadmap planning and contribute to the technical strategy based on competitive assessment and benchmarks as well as the company and sales strategy
- Hold technical authority during bid preparation
- Act as main technical contact for communication towards to the customer wrt train performance and overall technical topics
- Support the vehicle and subsystem design to ensure defined targets
- Ensure conversion of customer and regulatory requirements into train level requirements & into technical product specifications complying withstandards and manageable to control costs and time to market
- Derive requirements & specifications at Subsystem level and ensure consistency and compatibility between all Sub-S specifications
- Define the Project Verification and Validation strategy on train level, to ensure proper coverage and demonstration that customer and design requirements are met. Collect the contributions of all involved stakeholders
- Contribute to the certification and authorisation with the support on technical topics
- Support the reliability activities and ensure that the technical design meets the reliability targets for the product
- Reports functionally to the Chief of Development (CoD) within the Rolling Stock Engineering Organisation

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE MUST HAVE:
- Relevant academic background, Master of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronic, Railway System)
- At least 5 years of experience in a similar position with relevant experience in in rolling stock development from bid to product introduction (through all project delivery phases) in a highly complex and normative environment would be a major asset
- Familiar with system Engineering, Concept Design and Architecture, Requirement Management, Functional Analysis, testing and commissioning
- Good understanding of HW and SW interactions within complex system architectures
- Knowledge of applicable standards and regulations for rolling stock
- Open-minded, (self-) entrepreneurial, problem setting and problem solving, sense of urgency
- Leadership, team motivator, teaching of technical domain expertise
- Good Presentation and Writing skills required: clarity, rigor, and concision
