We are partnered with a leading global technology infrastructure specialist delivering critical connectivity solutions for some of the world’s most complex environments.
With over 30 years of industry experience and a global team of technical experts, our client specialises in infrastructure solutions across structured cabling, connectivity, managed services and data centre environments. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Technical Manager to support the delivery of high-profile technology infrastructure projects.
The Role - Technical Manager
As Technical Manager, you will be responsible for the governance, accuracy and approval of all product specification documentation used across projects.
You will act as a key technical control point between design, procurement and project delivery teams, ensuring approved materials, equipment and systems are technically compliant, accurately documented and aligned with project requirements.
Key Responsibilities - Technical Manager
- Review and approve cutsheets, product data sheets and technical submittals against project specifications, design requirements and client standards
- Ensure all materials, equipment and systems meet required performance, capacity, compliance and installation criteria
- Own the preparation, quality control and submission of technical documentation packages
- Manage document control processes, ensuring all technical information is accurate, traceable and version controlled
- Act as the central point of contact for cutsheet related queries across projects
- Work closely with Design and Engineering teams to validate design intent and technical requirements
- Collaborate with Procurement teams to ensure correct product selection and alignment with approved Bills of Materials
- Support Project Delivery teams with technical queries, product clarification and issue resolution
- Develop and maintain documentation standards, templates and best practice processes across projects
- Liaise with manufacturers and suppliers to obtain technical documentation and resolve product discrepancies
- Support technical reviews, audits and approval processes with clients, consultants and third parties
- Identify and mitigate risks relating to incorrect product selection, compliance issues and project delays
About You - Technical Manager
We are keen to speak with Technical Managers, Design Engineers, Technical Coordinators, Document Managers or Engineering professionals with experience supporting data centre, structured cabling, ICT infrastructure, construction or MEP environments.
- Proven experience working within a technical, design or engineering environment
- Must have a strong understanding of structured cabling systems, including copper and fibre infrastructure
- Experience reviewing technical documentation, specifications, drawings, product data sheets and submittals
- Knowledge of data centre infrastructure components, installation requirements and industry standards
- Ability to interpret technical specifications, compliance requirements and engineering documentation
- Experience coordinating technical information between design, procurement and delivery teams
- Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities and deadlines effectively
- Experience using Microsoft Office, Excel and SharePoint
Desirable experience:
- Previous experience working on data centre projects
- Knowledge of structured cabling manufacturers including CommScope, Panduit or Leviton
- Understanding of industry standards such as TIA, BICSI or ISO
- Experience with construction submittal and approval processes
- Familiarity with platforms such as Aconex, Procore, BIM tools or engineering document management systems
