The Company
Our client is an established and growing construction contractor delivering high-quality residential and mixed-use developments across the UK.
Due to the award of a new project, they are looking to appoint an experienced Site Manager to lead the delivery of a new-build apartment development in Nuneaton.
This is a 12-month fixed-term contract, with excellent opportunities for the successful candidate to secure a permanent position and progress onto future projects upon completion.
The Project
- The project involves the construction of a new-build apartment block in Nuneaton.
- The development is valued at approximately £2.5 million and has an anticipated construction programme of 12 months.
- The successful Site Manager will take ownership of the project from initial mobilisation and site setup through to completion, handover and final sign-off.
The Role
As Site Manager, you will be responsible for leading the day-to-day delivery of the project, ensuring works are completed safely, to the required quality standards, on programme and within budget.
You will manage the project from conception through to completion, coordinating all site activities and working closely with the wider project team, subcontractors, consultants and client representatives.
Typical responsibilities will include:
- Managing the full delivery of the new-build apartment project from site mobilisation through to completion and handover
- Planning, coordinating and monitoring all construction activities in line with the project programme
- Managing subcontractors and ensuring all works are completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards
- Maintaining high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance across the site
- Carrying out regular site inspections, toolbox talks and health and safety briefings
- Monitoring progress against the construction programme and identifying potential risks or delays
- Coordinating the delivery of materials, plant and equipment
- Managing site logistics and ensuring works are appropriately planned and sequenced
- Overseeing quality control and ensuring all works are completed in accordance with project specifications and building regulations
- Working closely with the Project Manager, Quantity Surveyor, design team and client representatives
- Managing site records and documentation, including site diaries, progress reports and health and safety information
- Overseeing snagging, commissioning and final project handover
- Building and maintaining strong working relationships with subcontractors, suppliers and the wider project team
The Requirements
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience working as a Site Manager within the construction industry
- A strong background delivering new-build residential or apartment developments
- Experience managing projects from initial site setup through to completion and handover
- Experience coordinating multiple subcontract packages and managing day-to-day site operations
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, building regulations, health and safety requirements and quality control
- Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills
- The ability to manage construction programmes and deliver projects within agreed timescales
- A proactive, hands-on and solutions-focused approach to site management
