Job Title: Site Manager
Location: Sheffield based with Nationwide Travel
Salary / Benefits: Negotiable depending on experience
Start Date: immediate start available

My client is recognised as one of the leading suppliers of railway maintenance works, we are currently working in partnership with Network Rail on all Routes in England and Wales.
They undertake a diverse range of projects, Maintenance and Construction specialisations include the following:
Vegetation clearance (to structures and earthworks)
Repairs to bridges, retaining walls and trackside structures
Roped access teams
Culvert clearance, jetting, CCTV surveys and structural examinations
STE2 / STE4 structural examinations
Debris clearance using our in-house water trained teams and safety boats
Brickwork and masonry repairs
Headwall re-construction
Reconstruction of culvert inverts
Culvert lining works
Drainage repairs including trenchless techniques and confined space works
Embankment and cutting stabilisation
Scour and erosion protection
Depot works
Main Responsibilities
- Manage network rail and rail related contracts to requisite performance criteria
- Be responsible for quality of works on site during construction process
- Update weekly progress on site programme and site drawings and share with Project Manager
- Plan, coordinate & motivate effective deployment of allocated personnel and resources in accordance with CML
Operations Manual
- Accept, control and reconcile works materials and equipment necessary to achieve the contract works
- Implement site safety documentation and contract plans to achieve, as a minimum, the client's requirements
and specification
- Promote and implement site specific management plans to ensure site activities comply with CML Health &
Safety, Quality and Environmental Policies
- Provide guidance and practical advice to site personnel for the competent execution of the contract works
- Liaise with the Project / Contracts Manager at all stages of the contract works
- Analyse and report contract performance weekly report and weekly returns. Monitor cost against budget, identify
progress of works against programme. Keep weekly records. Liaise with Project Manager and Commercial teams
to enable financial recovery in conjunction with the Site Supervisor / Foreman
- Manage site sub-contractors & sign timesheets for actual work completed
- Administer designated sites in accordance with CML systems and procedures, maintaining paperwork, records
and head-office returns
- Liaise with client personnel as required
- Maintain and develop client relationships on the basis of mutual trust and high standards of contract performance

The Ideal Candidate
- Minimum of 5 years demonstrable experience in managing multiple teams
- Civils background - Essential
- General buildings knowledge & experience - Essential
- Experience managing day to day operations on multiple schemes
- NR Projects experience (Rail background)
- Strong IT & communication skills
- Knowledge of CDM Regulations
- Commercial awareness
QUALIFICATIONS
- Civil Engineering qualifications (HNC / HND)
- PTS & COSS - Desirable
- Temporary Works Coordinator - Desirable
- First Aid - essential
- IOSH - essential
- SMSTS - essential
