Senior Technical Designer

Job Description

Navartis are currently partnering with interior design company that are looking for a Senior Technical Designer to join their team.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a firm that have built a reputation for quality. 

 Role & Responsibilities

  • Senior Technical Designer will develop and draw up architectural space and floor plans on a portfolio of projects and develop drawing packages with minimum direction
  • Draw up standard details as directed
  • Check that thorough administrative records are being maintained
  • Check through schedules and control packs to ensure that they are technically correct
  • Liaise with Clients and external project technical team and feed back to TH design team
  • Senior Technical Designer will brief FF&E team on relevant aspects of interior architecture and finishes, and draw up furniture plans
  • Check and approve supplier drawings for FF&E and build in terms of technical detail
  • Work with Lead Senior Technical Designer to introduce and adapt drawing standards
  • Assist design team on site when site surveys are required

Knowledge / Skills

  • Relevant Interior Design Qualification
  • 5-6 years’ professional design experience
  • Proven track record of developing technical packages for large, high end projects. 
  • Ability to interface with clients – interpreting their requirements and translating these into the technical aspects of schemes
  • Ability to work well within a team
  • Eye for detail and a meticulous and dedicated approach to checking for errors
  • Senior Technical Designer will have experience of training and coaching Junior Technical Designers
  • Proficient in managing and tracking projects to create a smooth flow of work within the practice
  • Senior Technical Designer will have extensive knowledge of technical aspects of design and the ability to screen drawings for accuracy and suitability
  • Proven skills base in 2D and 3D computer based drawing skills such as AutoCAD, Vectorworks or SketchUp
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite
