The Opportunity
We are working with a leading infrastructure and civil engineering contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in Birmingham.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a major, long term city centre development programme, supporting the delivery of a significant multi-phase scheme within the region.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in infrastructure and civils, extensive NEC experience and the commercial capability to operate confidently across complex, high value projects.
The Role
You will take responsibility for the commercial management of major infrastructure and civil engineering works, working closely with project teams and senior stakeholders to drive commercial performance, manage risk and maximise opportunities.
The role will cover commercial strategy, contract management, forecasting, change, procurement, risk and opportunity, client relationships and final accounts, with the opportunity to support and mentor junior members of the commercial team.
About You
We are looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with:
- Strong experience within infrastructure and civil engineering.
- Extensive experience working with NEC contracts.
- Proven experience managing the commercial aspects of major projects.
- Strong understanding of commercial strategy, risk and opportunity.
- Experience managing change, compensation events and contractual matters.
- Strong client and supply chain management experience.
- Excellent commercial, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- The confidence to operate at a senior level and influence project decisions.
- Experience working across major, complex infrastructure programmes.
