Senior Quantity Surveyor - Residential Housebuilding
Location: Derby
Salary: Up to £70,000 plus package
A leading residential construction business is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Derby. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven Senior QS to play a key role in delivering successful residential developments.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in residential construction, ideally gained with a main contractor or housebuilder, with proven experience managing the commercial delivery of housing projects from procurement through to final account.
Key responsibilities:

Managing the commercial performance of residential projects

Overseeing cost control, valuations, forecasting, and financial reporting

Managing subcontractor accounts, packages, variations, and final accounts

Leading procurement activities and ensuring effective package management

Working closely with site teams and senior stakeholders to drive project success

Identifying commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle

Ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards
Ideal experience:

Senior Quantity Surveyor experience within residential construction

Background with a main contractor, residential developer, or housebuilder

Strong experience managing residential projects and subcontract packages

Excellent commercial awareness with strong negotiation skills

Confident stakeholder management and ability to work autonomously
