Senior Quantity Surveyor

South Birmingham | Residential Housebuilding | Salary circa £70,000 (Competitive to Current Earnings) + Comprehensive Package | Flexible Working

An established and highly regarded residential developer is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team, overseeing multiple developments across the Midlands. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven professional to play a key role in delivering high-quality housing projects while supporting continued regional growth.

Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will take full responsibility for the financial and commercial management of a number of live and upcoming developments, ensuring projects are delivered within budget and in line with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage site budgets, cost reporting, and cash flow forecasting across multiple developments

  • Prepare and review monthly valuations, CVRs, and cost-to-complete reports

  • Procure, negotiate, and manage subcontractor packages in line with company procedures

  • Monitor variations, subcontractor payments, and final accounts

  • Provide commercial support and guidance to operational and site teams

  • Maintain strong working relationships with suppliers, consultants, and external stakeholders

  • Support the achievement of regional financial targets and performance KPIs

  • Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality standards

  • Support and mentor Junior Quantity Surveyors, contributing to their development and ensuring best practice across the team

About You

  • Proven Quantity Surveying experience within the residential housebuilding sector

  • Strong understanding of construction methods, commercial processes, and contractual procedures

  • Commercially astute with excellent negotiation and analytical skills

  • Organised and capable of managing multiple developments simultaneously

  • Confident communicator with the ability to build strong working relationships

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and commercial reporting systems

  • Degree qualified or professionally accredited (preferred but not essential)
