Our client is a leading global consultancy delivering complex infrastructure and engineering projects across sectors including transportation, highways and public realm. They are involved in some of the most exciting and prestigious projects across the UK and are known for delivering high-quality solutions through collaboration, innovation and technical excellence.

Due to continued growth within their infrastructure division, they are looking to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Managing Quantity Surveyor to join their team and support the delivery of projects within the Local Transport sector.

Role Overview
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor / Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the commercial management of infrastructure projects, working closely with delivery teams, clients and stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered successfully. You will be responsible for managing project costs, administering contracts and supporting procurement activities while maintaining strong relationships with clients and project partners.

This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of highways, civil engineering and public realm projects while also supporting the development of junior team members and contributing to the wider growth of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and administer post-contract activities across NEC4 contracts

  • Assess contractual changes and manage contractor payments

  • Prepare and manage project cost estimates, budgets and financial reports

  • Support procurement activities including preparation of ITT documentation

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, colleagues and external stakeholders

  • Support the delivery of highways, civil engineering and public realm projects

  • Identify and manage commercial risks to ensure successful project outcomes

  • Mentor and support junior members of the commercial team

Key Requirements

  • Experience working on civil infrastructure projects (highways or active travel desirable)

  • Strong experience administering NEC4 contracts

  • Understanding of procurement processes and preparation of ITT documentation

  • Experience managing, mentoring or supporting junior team members

  • Degree qualified in a relevant discipline

  • MRICS or working towards chartership
