Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: Remote (UK) with occasional travel to site in London
Type: Full-time, Permanent or freelance
We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team and support the successful delivery of a high-rise residential development in London. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused professional who can take ownership of project finances, manage contractual matters, and provide strategic commercial support throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:

Take full commercial responsibility for assigned projects from procurement through to final account.

Manage subcontract procurement, tender evaluations, and contract awards.

Prepare, review, and negotiate subcontract agreements and variations.

Monitor project costs, cash flow, forecasts, and budgets to ensure financial targets are achieved.

Prepare and submit valuations, applications for payment, and final accounts.

Identify, manage, and mitigate commercial and contractual risks.

Assess and agree variations, compensation events, and change control processes.

Produce accurate commercial reports and cost forecasts for senior management.

Manage subcontractor accounts, including payments, claims, and dispute resolution.

Work closely with project delivery teams to provide commercial guidance and maximise project profitability.

Support junior commercial team members through mentoring and guidance where required.
Requirements:

Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within the construction sector.

Strong commercial and contractual knowledge, including experience administering standard forms of contract (JCT and/or NEC).

Demonstrable experience delivering high-rise residential construction projects.

Excellent cost management, forecasting, and financial reporting skills.

Strong negotiation and stakeholder management abilities.

Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
