Senior Quantity Surveyor – Surrey
Location: Surrey
Rate: £450 per day (Ltd/Umbrella)
Duration: 12 Months
Working Pattern: 1 day on site, 4 days in the office
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading contractor on a demolition project in Surrey.
The project involves the demolition of an existing structure and the construction of a new car park, with a programme duration of approximately 12 months. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused Senior Quantity Surveyor to take ownership of the project's commercial activities from inception through to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing all commercial aspects of the project
- Preparing and submitting valuations and applications for payment
- Managing subcontractor procurement, payments, and final accounts
- Assessing and negotiating variations and change events
- Producing CVRs, forecasts, and cost reports
- Managing contractual correspondence and maintaining commercial records
- Supporting the operational team with commercial advice and risk management
- Assisting with final account negotiations and project close-out
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within construction, civil engineering, demolition, or enabling works
- Strong understanding of JCT and/or NEC contracts
- Experience managing projects independently
- Excellent commercial, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work both collaboratively and autonomously
