Project Quantity Surveyor
Location: Walsall office with site visits as required
Engagement: Ltd Company - Outside IR35
Duration: 6 Month Contract
Rate: Competitive day rate depending on experience
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Project Quantity Surveyor to join a leading contractor delivering works within the water sector.
Our client is looking for a commercially astute Quantity Surveyor with experience managing projects from inception through to final account. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of NEC contracts and ideally come from a water or civil engineering background.
This is a 6-month contract opportunity, operating outside IR35, with an immediate start available.
Key responsibilities for this Project Quantity Surveyor role:
- Managing the commercial aspects of water and civil engineering projects
- Administering NEC contracts and ensuring contractual compliance
- Preparing and managing applications for payment, valuations and variations
- Identifying, pricing and agreeing compensation events
- Producing cost reports, forecasts and cash flow projections
- Supporting procurement and subcontract management activities
- Managing project risk and opportunity registers from a commercial perspective
- Working closely with operational teams to maximise project profitability
- Assisting with final accounts and project close-out activities
Experience required for this Project Quantity Surveyor role:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the water, utilities or civil engineering sectors
- Strong working knowledge of NEC3 and/or NEC4 contracts
- Experience managing projects through the full commercial lifecycle
- Ability to manage subcontractors and commercial stakeholders effectively
- Strong reporting, negotiation and communication skills
- Degree qualified or equivalent experience preferred
