Main Contractor client seeking an experienced Document Controller to be site based in the Wembley area on a new build Data Centre project. Although remote working is on offer, the Senior Document Controller must live within commutable distance to the site located near Wembley.

Whilst Data Centre experience is not essential, it is highly desirable. Experience using 4P (4 Projects) software is essential, as is previous experience setting up jobs from scratch.

This position, although site based as the project Lead Document Controller, will work as part of a larger UK wide Information Management team reporting into the project Design Lead. This Senior Document Controller will carry out administrative tasks and maintain and manage the organisation of the electronic document management system (EDMS) in line with any project requirements and company standards.

The Data Centre project will be going live in quarter 1 meaning it’s essential to have the successful Document Controller on site and working in February, March at the latest.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintenance of documents and revisions to the EDMS to ensure complete and up to date repository of information that is correctly audited from all parties 
  • Distribution of information to the relevant internal, designs and client teams
  • Ensuring compliance across all project’s information in line with standards, protocols, and security measures
  • Liaising with external consultants and subcontractors, etc regarding document management and approval requirements
  • Produce and regularly update trackers and reports for the project to record progress and update the team
  • QA check information to company information standards and ensure it is distributed to the relevant workflows and review appropriately by internal teams
  • Assist with any training when required
  • Support site teams with the use of the EDMS, administrative tasks and any ad hoc duties 
  • To work to the Company’s quality standards and performance criteria
  • Co-operate on matters of health and safety and follow the training provided, always taking reasonable care of personal and other people’s health and safety
  • Any other duties consistent with the role of Document Controller as may be required from time to time

EXPERIENCE

  • Data Centre, or similar high tech project experience would be extremely advantageous
  • 4P / 4 Projects software experience is essential
  • Proven experience setting up jobs from scratch is essential
  • Ambition and drive 
  • Self-motivation and pro-activity  
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written 
  • The ability to work on your own initiative 
  • Ability to drive would be beneficial
