We are partnered with a leading global technology infrastructure specialist delivering critical connectivity solutions.
With over 30 years of industry experience and a global team of technical experts, our client specialises in end-to-end infrastructure solutions across structured cabling, connectivity, managed services and data centre environments. Due to continued growth across Malaysia, they are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Buyer to support the delivery of multiple high-profile technology infrastructure projects.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of end-to-end procurement activities, working closely with project, operations, design and supply chain teams to ensure materials and services are sourced effectively, competitively and delivered in line with project requirements.
The Role - Senior Buyer
As Senior Buyer, you will be responsible for managing procurement activities across multiple concurrent projects, ensuring materials, equipment and services are secured on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
You will play a key role in supplier management, commercial negotiations, cost optimisation and procurement governance, supporting successful project delivery across Malaysia’s growing data centre and technology infrastructure sector.
Hybrid working arrangement, part based from home with regular travel required across Malaysia to support project sites, supplier meetings and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities - Senior Buyer
- Lead end-to-end procurement activities for materials, equipment and services across multiple projects
- Source structured cabling materials including fibre, copper systems, racks, containment and associated accessories
- Manage RFQs, supplier evaluations, negotiations and purchasing decisions based on cost, quality and delivery requirements
- Develop strong supplier relationships and negotiate pricing, lead times, payment terms and commercial agreements
- Work closely with Project Managers, Operations and Design teams to align procurement with project programmes
- Monitor purchase orders, supplier commitments and delivery schedules, identifying and mitigating supply chain risks
- Support cost-saving initiatives through supplier benchmarking, negotiation and specification reviews
- Maintain accurate procurement records, reporting and compliance documentation
About You - Senior Buyer
We are keen to speak with Senior Buyers, Procurement Specialists or Supply Chain professionals with experience supporting data centres, structured cabling, ICT infrastructure, telecommunications, construction, electrical or technology driven projects.
- Proven experience working within a Senior Buyer or procurement role in a project based environment
- Experience sourcing and procuring structured cabling, ICT infrastructure, electrical materials or technical equipment
- Strong supplier negotiation skills with experience managing quotations, pricing, lead times and commercial terms
- Experience managing purchase orders, supplier performance and delivery coordination
- Good technical understanding of the products and materials being procured
- Ability to work closely with project teams to align procurement with programme requirements
- Strong understanding of supply chain risks, lead times, availability and mitigation strategies
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
- Experience using procurement or ERP systems such as Sage, alongside strong Microsoft Office skills including Excel
Desirable experience:
- Previous experience working on hyperscale, colocation or enterprise data centre projects
- Knowledge of structured cabling manufacturers and suppliers
- Experience supporting international procurement or projects across multiple locations
- Understanding of logistics, import requirements and regional supply chain challenges
- Degree or qualification in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, Engineering or a related discipline
