About the Role

This Quantity Surveyor role sits at the centre of commercial project delivery. You will support the successful financial management of civil engineering schemes from early stages through to final account.

Working closely with project managers and site teams, you will take ownership of cost control, subcontract management and contractual processes. The role offers exposure to NEC contracts and the opportunity to contribute to risk management and commercial decision-making on live projects.

The key responsibilities for this Quantity Surveyor role are:

  • Prepare and submit interim payment applications and final accounts
  • Manage cost reporting including valuations and cost value reconciliations
  • Administer contracts in line with NEC3 and NEC4 requirements
  • Identify and notify early warnings to support risk management
  • Manage and submit compensation events and associated quotations
  • Procure subcontractors in line with project programmes
  • Administer subcontract agreements and documentation
  • Assess subcontractor applications and issue payment notices
  • Agree final accounts with subcontractors
  • Measure quantities from drawings and on site where required
  • Monitor project progress alongside the wider team
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date site records

 

Experience required for this Quantity Surveyor role are:

  • Relevant HND or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering
  • Previous experience working on civil engineering projects
  • Working knowledge of NEC forms of contract
  • Strong understanding of cost management and commercial processes

 

Desirable knowledge, skills and experience for this Quantity Surveyor role are:

  • Experience across infrastructure or utilities projects
  • Ability to manage multiple subcontract packages
  • Strong communication and team collaboration skills
