Quantity Surveyor

Job Description

We have a current hybrid working opportunity to join a respected mobile telecoms infrastructure provider as a Quantity Surveyor. This is a hybrid working role with the office based in Surrey.

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be working directly with the project team and directors submitting interim and final accounts as part of the commercial and procurement department. You will also be collaborating with other departments within the company.

Quantity Surveyor Role:

- Provide commercial and financial management between supplier base and delivery teams.
- Supporting commercial team, procurement team and project managers to deliver all aspects of site costs.
- Ensuring financial and contractual compliance is to standard to ensure margins are met.
- Supporting project teams ensuring cost deliverables are recorded, tracked and submitted within SLAs.
- Provide mentoring and guidance to the junior team members regarding pricing, cost control, admin, finance management and company procedures.
- Maintain and build relationships with current and prospective clients and professionals to promote tender invitations and support comprehensive business cases for tender bids and change variation requests.
- Support the Commercial and Procurement Manager in relation to tendering, analysis, contract negotiation and supply chain management.


Quantity Surveyor Responsibilities:
- Point of for project and delivery managers re: cost submission status and workload forecast. Also a point of contact for subcontractors re: quotations, PO's and financial reporting.
- Closely monitor tender enquiry process.
- Issue RFQ information to suppliers and provide analysis.
- Delegate tasks to ensure SLA's are met.
- Maintain and manage data which will be used to accurately report on design and build for budget planning/cost modelling for senior members of management.
- Measure prices and agree costs with clients and sub-contractors. i.e. Detailed BoQ for each site contract.
- Rate build-up to be checked and amended where necessary.
- Mark BOQ to identify items to have tender enquiries sent out.
- Complete quote analysis comparison.
- Assess and amend rates and prices.
- Re-assess build-ups taking account of all known conditions and requirements. (adjusting figures)
- Review contractors final account statements.
- Review and put forward any variation/compensation events claims and agree associated costs with contractors and clients.
- Review applications for payment and relevant project managers to ensure work has been completed to satisfaction.
- Assist with target pricing reviews in order to challenge subcontractor rates in alignment with customers agreed price lists.
- Maintain and manage details of all costs. Tracking of all scheme costs, PO's, Variations and payments,
- Review WIPs
- Management of contractors accounts.
- Budget Management including final account measurement.

Requirements:
- Mobile telecoms experience.
- Experience with NEC3 contracts.
- Experience with telecoms vendors.
- Proven track record of project delivery.
- Project and Programme Co-ordination experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills at all levels.
- Flexible and adaptable to regularly changing priorities.
- Strong logical problem solver.
- Energetic and self motivated.
- Thrives in a fast moving environment.
