Salary / Benefits:

£50,000 - £63,000 negotiable dependant on experience plus car / car allowance & package

Company Information:

A successful organisation that specialises in structural steelwork and fabrications on steel railway structures and bridges in the rail sector.

After recently secured several long term contracts they are looking for an experienced Quality Manager with a Rail / Manufacturing bias.

Based in Stockport or Irlam with Hybrid Working

To be suitable for the position you must have;

- Experience working in a similar Quality / Assurance role in the rail or manufacturing sectors.
- Good understanding and working knowledge of managing ISO 9001 standards
- Experience Creating and implementing QMS Systems in line with ISO 9001 requirements
- A background working in Infrastructure, ideally having worked on major projects within the rail industry
- A member of the Chartered Quality Institute at Member level or Practitioner level (MCQI or PCQI)

Desirable

- Understanding of Structural Steelwork.
- Chartered Quality Practitioner (CQP)
- ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor

Summary of Responsibilities

- Ensure that you and your team follow company guidelines with regards to Health, Safety & Environment.
- Ensure any near misses & hazards are raised in a timely manner and corrective solutions are put in place.
- Responsibility for Assurance of product and processes in line with company and legislative requirements.
- Responsible for the day-to-day leadership and management of the quality team ensuring they are motivated and developed in line with business and personal needs.
- Ensure current business processes are aligned with business objectives (cost, quality, customer experience).
- Develop and maintain a quality management system that integrates all key functional areas and meets the requirements of ISO 9001 and RISAS.
- Implement and support a programme of continuous auditing whereby processes are continually reviewed, outcomes analysed, and improvements identified in line with changes to business objectives.
- Maintain the process capability so that all measurement equipment calibration is fully planned in line with production and service support schedules.
- Lead the development and sustainability of the continuous improvement process, ensuring technical skills are available to support detailed investigation and the training of key staff.
- Liaise with Customer and Supply Chain representatives to help ensure any quality issues are quickly contained, with full root-cause established and their approved solutions delivered in full
