Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 + Benefits

About the Company

Our client is a growing engineering contractor delivering multidisciplinary projects across the UK rail sector. Working closely with Tier 1 contractors and supply chain partners, the business supports the delivery of electrical, mechanical, telecoms and civil engineering works across a range of infrastructure programmes.

With a strong pipeline of secured work and continued growth, they are looking to strengthen their project delivery team with the appointment of a Project Manager.

This is a business where individuals can take real ownership, work closely with senior leadership and play a key role in the delivery of complex rail projects.


About the Role

As Project Manager you will be responsible for delivering M&E, telecoms and civils works across rail infrastructure projects, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme and within budget.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys being close to delivery, working collaboratively with site teams, clients and stakeholders while taking ownership of project performance from planning through to completion.

Based from East Kilbride, the role will involve supporting projects across the UK and would suit someone comfortable operating within a growing contractor environment.


The key responsibilities for this Project Manager role are:

- Manage projects from planning through to delivery and handover
- Prepare and maintain project plans, schedules and programme controls
- Lead project teams to ensure delivery against time, cost and quality objectives
- Manage project governance, reporting and change control processes
- Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts and resource plans
- Identify and manage project risks and implement mitigation strategies
- Coordinate communication between internal teams, clients and stakeholders
- Prepare project progress reports and support senior management with delivery performance
- Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements
- Build and maintain strong client relationships throughout project delivery


Experience required for this Project Manager role are:

- Proven experience working as a Project Manager within infrastructure or engineering projects
- Minimum 4 years' project management experience
- Experience delivering rail, M&E, telecoms or civil engineering projects
- Strong understanding of programme, cost and risk management
- Experience managing clients, stakeholders and delivery teams
- Ability to travel and support projects across the UK


Desirable knowledge, skills and experience for this Project Manager role are:

- Experience working within the rail industry
- Working towards APM accreditation
- NEC4 Project Manager accreditation
- Experience working within an SME or contractor-led environment
