About the Role

This Project Manager role will see you overseeing multiple water and wastewater projects across the Cumbria region, working as part of an established framework team.

You will be responsible for managing projects from planning through to delivery, ensuring all works are completed safely, on time, and within budget. The role involves close coordination with internal teams, subcontractors, and client representatives.

This position has come about due to continued growth and increased workload across the framework, offering the opportunity to step into a stable role with long-term prospects and consistent project delivery.

 

The key responsibilities for this Project Manager role are:

  • Manage multiple water and wastewater projects across the Cumbria area
  • Deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget
  • Lead site teams and subcontractors to maintain high safety standards
  • Coordinate design, procurement, and construction activities
  • Monitor programme performance and resolve any delays
  • Ensure compliance with SHEQ and CDM regulations
  • Produce and manage project reporting for internal and client teams
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
  • Support the identification and development of new work opportunities

 

Experience required for this Project Manager role are:

  • 5 to 10 years' experience in a Project Manager role within the water sector
  • Strong background in water or wastewater infrastructure projects
  • Experience delivering multiple projects within a framework environment
  • Good understanding of programme and commercial management
  • Relevant engineering qualification such as HNC or HND
  • Valid CSCS card and SMSTS certification

 

Desirable knowledge, skills and experience for this Project Manager role are:

  • Experience working on UK water frameworks
  • Knowledge of both civil and MEICA works
  • Strong stakeholder and client management skills
  • Ability to lead and develop site teams
