Location: Nottingham / Hybrid

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 negotiable dependant on experience plus package

Summary

A highly professional Environmental Consultancy specialising in all types of Ecology, Hydrology and Environmental works has opened up a new office in Nottingham and is looking to take on a Project Manager, to manage and deliver multiple projects alongside one another.

On a day-to-day basis the requirements of the post would involve:

Working directly with the

  • Team Lead for Aquatic Ecology and will be responsible for coordinating, undertaking field work and reporting in relation to Aquatic Ecology with the option to grow and expand your experience to other sectors of consultancy work
  • The Sales Director to promote and develop of consultancy skills and service offering from the Nottingham Office.

- Scoping and Project Management of a range of small to medium-scale Projects;
- Building/maintaining relationships with Clients;
- With the support of the Sales Director, assist and develop new business generation through marketing, networking and attendance at environmental conferences and assist with promotion of Gavia to clients;
- Negotiating with statutory agencies, NGOs and other stakeholders on behalf of Clients;
- Provide assistance to the Director to build a sub-contractor network and recruit for like-minded Environmental Consultants;
- Project resource planning and financial reporting;
- Maintaining the company reporting standards and developing your own Professional Development; and
- Operating at all times in accordance with the CIEEM/IEMA/CIWEM Professional Code of Conduct.

Candidate Profile

- Proven working experience in project management role within a consultancy, ideally with developing knowledge of a specific element of an ecological/environmental specialism
- Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
- A good level of written English and be conversant with the framework of legislation and guidance within which we practice consultancy in the UK Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Accurate record-keeping and good project and budgetary management skills
- Project Management Professional (PMP) / PRINCE II certification is a plus
- Bachelor's Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience
- Experience with project management software tools

Desirable but not essential

- Proven ecological / environmental consultancy background would be highly desirable but not essential as training and development will be provided.
- Member, or working towards membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management or Association of Project Management (APM)
- Degree in relevant discipline
- Understanding of the technical aspects of ecology
