Principal Carbon Consultant

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Principal Carbon Consultantto join a highly influential Smart Energy and Sustainability team.

The immediate projects for the role include:

  • Corporate Net Zero Carbon strategies for companies of all sizes and sectors, following Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol 
  • Verification and validation of net zero commitments across a range of project types.
  • Developing net zero strategies for masterplan developments, including both operational energy and embodied carbon
  • Verification of Corporate Sustainability Reporting (including SECR)

Key responsibilities for this Principal Carbon Consultant role:

  • Leading the delivery of carbon management, verification and validation strategies.
  • Net Zero strategy development including alignment to relevant standards e.g. Science Based Targets.  
  • Carbon accounting, compliance, and measurement techniques and calculation methods for scopes 1-3, including in-depth understanding of scope 3 emissions sources and how to mitigate them.
  • Communicating sustainability requirements to internal and external team members.
  • Producing high-quality reports providing advice and guidance to clients and project teams.
  • Assisting in preparing bids and proposals for new work.

Experience required for this Principal Carbon Consultant role:

  • Experienced project leader experience in a similar role.
  • Thorough understanding on the construction industry and built environment. 
  • Ability to manage projects. 
  • Client relationship management skills. 
  • Proven track record of project delivery.
  • Hold a relevant degree, BA (Hons), BEng (Hons) or BSc (Hons) or equivalent/higher.
