Planner (Civils)
Company: Tier 1 Contractor – Civil Engineering Division
Location: East Midlands / East Anglia
Salary: Up to £70,000 + Car Allowance, Bonus & Benefits
The Opportunity..
We’re working with a leading Tier 1 contractor with an established civil engineering division and a strong pipeline of infrastructure projects across the East Midlands and East Anglia.
Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Planner to join their team, supporting the delivery of a number of highways, structures and earthworks schemes.
The business is also open to considering an experienced Site Agent or Site Engineer who has practical site experience and a good working knowledge of Primavera P6, and is looking to make the transition into a dedicated planning position.
The Role..
As a Planner, you will work closely with the project and commercial teams to develop, maintain and monitor programmes throughout the project lifecycle.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and maintaining detailed construction programmes using Primavera P6.
- Producing fully resourced programmes for live projects and tenders.
- Supporting project teams with programme development, sequencing and planning.
- Monitoring progress against the programme and identifying potential delays and risks.
- Working closely with Site Agents, Project Managers, Engineers and Commercial teams.
- Developing short-, medium- and long-term programmes.
- Reviewing project progress and providing regular programme updates.
- Supporting the management of change, delays and potential programme impacts.
- Contributing to tender and pre-construction planning activities.
- Ensuring programmes reflect realistic construction methodologies and site constraints.
About You..
The successful Planner will ideally have:
- Previous experience working as a Planner within civil engineering / infrastructure.
- Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6.
- Experience working on projects involving highways, structures, earthworks and associated civil engineering works.
- A good understanding of construction sequencing and site operations.
- A Civil Engineering qualification or relevant engineering qualification.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to work closely with operational teams and understand the practical delivery of projects.
