The Opportunity
We are working with a leading infrastructure and civil engineering contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to join their established commercial team.
This is an opportunity to take a senior commercial position within a business delivering major infrastructure and civil engineering projects, with responsibility across commercial performance, project strategy and the development of the wider commercial team.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in infrastructure and civils, extensive NEC experience, and the commercial capability to operate confidently across complex, high-value projects.
Experience working on HS2 or other major infrastructure programmes would be highly desirable.
The Role
You will provide senior commercial leadership across major infrastructure and civils projects, working closely with project leadership and senior stakeholders to drive commercial performance, manage risk and maximise opportunities.
The role will involve oversight of commercial strategy, contract management, forecasting, change, procurement, risk and opportunity, client relationships and final accounts, alongside supporting and mentoring the wider commercial team.
About You
We are looking for an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor with:
- Strong experience within infrastructure and civil engineering.
- Extensive experience working with NEC contracts.
- A proven track record managing the commercial function on major projects.
- Strong understanding of commercial strategy, risk and opportunity.
- Experience managing change, compensation events and contractual matters.
- Strong client and supply chain management experience.
- Experience leading, mentoring and developing commercial teams.
- Excellent commercial, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- The confidence to operate at a senior level and influence project and business decisions.
- Experience on major infrastructure programmes is highly desirable.
- HS2 experience would be advantageous, but is not essential.
