Location:

Redhill / London

Options for paid subsistence and hybrid working available

Salary / Benefits:
£55,000 - £60,000 per annum, plus company car & competitive package

Role Information;

A leading international infrastructure contractor specialising in construction, transportation, power and energy is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join their join their team based in London.

This role will see you providing guidance, support, advice and governance to the Project/Business Area on all HSES related subjects. You will also manage Project HS&ES professionals within their area of control and will directly partner with the Project Directors/Heads of Operations

Responsibilities

- Communicate and engage with the project to implement the HSES strategy.
- Conduct site HSES audits, inspections, visits & joint tours
- Assist the local & external audit programme across the project.
- Ensure the business is compliant with all HSES Regulations, company policies and the BMS across the project.
- Provide HSES advice and support at an operational level.
- Coach and mentor direct reports for succession planning and professional/personal development.
- Assist in the identification of site HSES training needs.
- Ensure lessons learned are effectively communicated across the Project.
- Support HSES work winning activities across the business.
- Ensure regular communication and engage with key stakeholders.
- Support and maintain a constant focus on the behavioural safety programme across the Project.
- Support the Project during near miss/incident/accident investigations.
- Support the HSES upskilling and development of the business operational teams
- Promote HSES initiatives and innovations across their Project.

Seeking someone with:

- Ideally a Chartered member of a relevant professional body (IOSH/IEMA) or working towards.
- NEBOSH Diploma or NVQ Level 6 in Health & Safety
- Proven experience leading and managing a team.
- Prior experience in construction and incident investigation (Rail, Civils or Building Environment).
- Influencing and persuasion skills.
- Analytical skills with an attention to detail.
- Excellent communicator with motivational, leadership and coaching skills.
- Experience of reviewing and producing HSES reports to executive level

Although not essential it would also be advantageous if you have;

- Degree in Occupational Health & Safety
- Any other Qualifications in Health and Safety, Environmental or Quality
