Freelance Senior Quantity Surveyor

Duration: 12 Months
Rate: £425 - £450 per day

We are currently seeking an experienced Freelance Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a civil engineering project in the Midlands on a freelance basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute senior quantity surveyor with strong civil engineering experience to take responsibility for the commercial management of the project, working closely with the project delivery and commercial teams.
The Role
As the Freelance Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of the project from procurement through to final account, ensuring strong cost control, accurate forecasting and effective commercial management.
Key responsibilities will include:

Managing the commercial delivery of the project from start through to completion.

Preparing and managing project budgets, forecasts and cost reports.

Managing subcontractor procurement, payments, variations and final accounts.

Reviewing and negotiating subcontractor applications and accounts.

Identifying, managing and mitigating commercial risks and opportunities.
Experience
We are looking for someone with:

Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering.

Strong commercial and contractual knowledge.

Experience managing subcontractors and supply chain packages.
-
Excellent cost reporting, forecasting and change management skills.

A commercially focused and proactive approach.
