Freelance Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: Manchester
Duration: 12 Months
Rate: £450 per day - LTD or CIS
Due to continued growth, my client is seeking an experienced freelance senior quantity surveyor to support the commercial management of a civil engineering project in Manchester.
The successful candidate will play a key role in managing the commercial performance of the project from procurement through to final account and will involves working closely with operational teams, clients, and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities

Management of project costs and commercial reporting.

Preparation and submission of interim valuations and applications for payment.

Assessment and agreement of subcontractor applications and final accounts.

Procurement and commercial management of subcontractors and suppliers.

Preparation, submission, and negotiation of variations and compensation events.

Cost forecasting, cash flow management, and risk assessment.

Contract administration under NEC forms of contract

Production of monthly CVRs and commercial reports.

Supporting project teams to achieve commercial and operational objectives.
Requirements
-
Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within the civil engineering sector.

Strong knowledge of NEC contracts (essential).

Experience in highways, infrastructure, utilities and groundworks

Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
