Fibre Build Manager

Job Description

We have a current opportunity on a permanent basis to join an established fixed line provider as a Fibre Build Manager. This is a site based role working within field teams, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and effectively. In this role, you will be managing the delivery of FTTH and act as the client's main on site point of contact for Clients, Contractors, Supervisors, Ganags. The client's main office is based in Sheffield however they have sites in Lincoiln & Warrington where you will be visiting reguarly. Some OOH weekend work & overnight work may be involved. 


Fibre Build Manager Role:

  • Supervising projects through to completion
  • Ensuring project KPI's, Time, Cost, Compliance and Quality are controlled and met.
  • Managing multiple workstreams at once.
  • Highlight budget risks
  • Responsible for civil construction works by direct employees and contracted labourers.
  • Highlight, monitor, report, address & escalate issues within the project to the relevant stakeholders.
  • Site Audits, collating and reporting to relevant departments.
  • Weekly reporting on build progress, risks etc.
  • Ensure documentation and as-built info is audited post handover. Withing agreed SLAs reporting defects and changes.
  • Working alongside project manager, coordinators inside the PMO team.
  • Governance of performance objectives.
  • Ensuring there are regular reviews on project, accountable.
  • Understand the cots across the program and provide reporting of financial figures on a weekly basis to drive and maintain targets.
  • Coordinate the project
  • Assess KPIs, performance, research and develop new approaches and capabilities.


Fibre Build Manager Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of telecoms, network infrastructure in relation to FTTP/FTTH.
  • NRSWA
  • 4+ Years' experience in a build management role with evidence of supplier control management.
  • Experienced with FTTP Civils and Cabling
  • Experienced with PIA & overhead Cabling.
  • Demonstrate experience working in accordance of CDM Regulations.
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong commitment to Health & Safety, experience of method statements and risk assessments.
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Competent with a wide range of telecoms tools and equipment
  • MS Office Skills
  • Ability to read & interpret detailed drawings.
  • Proactive & efficient problem solver
  • Seeks to improve existing processes.
