Job Description

Freelance Drainage Engineer Required - Hampshire

 

We are seeking an experienced Freelance Drainage Engineer to support ongoing civil engineering and infrastructure projects across Hampshire.

Key Requirements

  • Proven experience in drainage and highway infrastructure works
  • Valid Street Works (NRSWA) qualification.
  • Competent in the planning, design, and management of Temporary Works.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and drainage layouts.
  • Experience with highway drainage systems, culverts, attenuation tanks, and associated civil works.
  • Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Full UK driving licence and ability to travel across Hampshire sites.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate drainage installation and maintenance works.
  • Ensure compliance with Street Works regulations and permit requirements
  • Prepare, review, and implement Temporary Works solutions where required.
  • Liaise with site teams, contractors, local authorities, and project stakeholders.
  • Conduct site inspections and ensure work is delivered to programme and quality standards.
  • Provide technical support and problem-solving throughout project delivery.

Desirable

  • Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) or Temporary Works Supervisor (TWS) certification
  • CSCS card and relevant civil engineering qualifications.
