We are seeking a highly motivated Electrical Design Engineer to join a leading engineering and development team delivering next-generation data centre projects in Stockholm. This is an exciting opportunity to work on mission-critical infrastructure in one of Europe’s most advanced and sustainability-focused digital hubs.
This is a contract position based in Stockholm, offering flexibility and the opportunity to work on high-impact hyperscale and colocation data centre projects.
As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and delivery of electrical systems for complex data centre environments. While previous data centre experience is preferred, we also welcome candidates from related sectors such as pharmaceutical, healthcare, industrial manufacturing, power generation, and oil & gas.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and deliver electrical design solutions for data centre projects across concept, detailed and technical design stages
• Produce detailed electrical drawings, single line diagrams, schematics, calculations, specifications, and technical documentation
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including architects, structural engineers, and commissioning specialists
• Support end-to-end project delivery from feasibility through to construction and commissioning
• Ensure all designs comply with Swedish building regulations, EU standards, and client technical requirements
• Conduct site visits across Stockholm and wider Nordic data centre campus locations
• Support value engineering, energy efficiency optimisation, and sustainability initiatives (low PUE and carbon reduction focus)
• Interface with contractors, OEMs, and hyperscale clients to ensure design intent is maintained through delivery
Requirements
• Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or related discipline
• Proven experience as an Electrical Design Engineer or similar building services design role
• Data centre experience preferred but not essential
• Strong background in healthcare, pharmaceutical, industrial, power generation, or oil & gas environments highly desirable
• Strong understanding of electrical distribution systems, UPS systems, generators, LV/MV design, and power resilience
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, or similar BIM tools
• Knowledge of Swedish building regulations and EU EN standards is advantageous
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in international multidisciplinary teams
