This is a great opportunity for an experienced Design Engineer to join a thriving business at the forefront of the design, build and maintenance of critical national infrastructure of the UK's gas asset oweners, and pipeline networks.
The company are market leaders in the Energy sector and your role as Design Engineer will be responsible for supporting the engineering department in the delivery of construction-related designs, research and development projects, and project design input.
Key responsibilities for this Design Engineer role:
- Producing layouts and detailed drawings using AutoCAD and other 3D CAD packages, for the inclusion in tender processes
- Assisting Project Managers / Engineers with temporary works designs for ongoing projects
- Leading R&D projects as assigned by the department head
- Liaising with the client design team to ensure intent is met and design approval is achieved
- Ensuring contracts teams and engineers have all required information, communicated through construction drawings, to complete projects to the client’s requirements.
- Ensuring best practice in line with health and safety legislation, and undertaking relevant training and development activities to understand and implement new and alternative systems
Experience required for this Design Engineer role:
- Minimum BEng degree qualification in Civil Engineering
- High standard of computer literacy with excellent working knowledge of MicroStation / AutoCAD and proficiency in using Microsoft Office
- Experience with codes of practice for concrete and steel work design (EN & BS codes)
- Ideally experienced with post processing of 3D scanning, point cloud and Building Information Management systems (BIM).
- Working knowledge of CDM 2015 Regulations including the Principal Designer role
Package offered for this Design Engineer role:
- £30,000-35,000
- 3/5% pension
- 26 days holiday plus bank holidays
