Project Overview
We are seeking an experienced Freelance SR163 Manager (site/project) to support a major infrastructure upgrade as part of the Great Grid Project. The work covers overhead line modifications between North Humber and High Marnham substations with a key focus on managing and delivering ground investigations across substation sites.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all ground investigation activities in line with SR163 and project requirements
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee site investigation
- Ensure compliance with National Grid standards, health & safety regulations, and environmental requirement
- Manage subcontractors carrying out site investigations and ensure quality assurance
- Identify and mitigate risks related to ground conditions
- Provide technical input to support design and construction phases
Key Requirements
- Proven experience as an SR163 Manager or similar role on National Grid or major utilities project
- Strong background in ground investigation works
- Familiarity with substation environments and overhead line projects
- Excellent understanding of UK regulations, CDM requirements, and HSEQ standards
- Previous experience working on National Grid projects
