Commercial Lead - UK
Location: London REMOTE (UK remit)
Salary: Up to £140,000 DOE + 20% bonus + senior benefits package
We are currently partnering with a well capitalised, rapidly scaling data centre developer to appoint a Real Estate Commercial Lead for their UK business.
This is a senior leadership role, offering the opportunity to take full ownership of the commercial strategy across a growing portfolio of large scale, mission critical developments. You will act as the key commercial partner to the UK Country Manager, playing a pivotal role in shaping investment decisions, driving performance, and safeguarding project value across the lifecycle.
The Opportunity - Commercial Lead
This position sits at the heart of a high-growth European platform, with responsibility for leading all commercial, cost, and procurement activities across multiple live and pipeline projects. You will operate at both a strategic and operational level, influencing senior stakeholders while ensuring robust commercial discipline is applied across delivery.
Key Responsibilities - Commercial Lead
- Lead and execute the UK commercial strategy, aligned with investment objectives and long-term portfolio value
- Provide senior input into business cases, feasibility studies, and investment approvals
- Oversee cost planning, forecasting, value engineering, and financial performance across projects
- Drive CAPEX governance, ensuring projects are delivered within approved parameters
- Lead procurement strategy and oversee high-value contract negotiations
- Establish and maintain strong supply chain partnerships, driving performance and value
- Manage commercial risk, change control, and reporting across the portfolio
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing commercial team
- Act as the senior commercial interface across development, finance, delivery, and executive leadership
Key Skills - Commercial Lead
- 10-15+ years’ experience in commercial management within large-scale development or infrastructure environments
- Background in real estate development, or adjacent sectors such as energy, rail, aviation, or renewables
- Proven experience operating in client-side or developer environments across multi-project portfolios
- Strong knowledge of procurement strategies and contract forms (e.g. NEC, FIDIC)
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams and complex stakeholder environments
- Commercially astute, strategically minded, and confident operating at senior level
