Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Bridge Engineer to join their growing team in Vancouver. In this role, you will be working within the Bridge Engineering Division focusing on delivering bridge work related to highways, rural roadways, resource roads, urban streets, and pedestrian bridges.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, review and provide oversight for structural design calculations of bridges, from larger structures to single-span structures and bridge-sized culverts, retaining walls and shallow foundation design, pedestrian bridge design
- Prepare conceptual, design and contract cost estimates
- Coordinate with various sub-consultants and project stakeholders
- Assist in the preparation of approval, tender and contract documents
- Assist or lead in the project management and technical delivery of large, multi-disciplinary projects
- Supervise and mentor junior staff
- Work with other team members to ensure schedules, budgets, and quality control standards are achieved and maintained
- Participate in strategic planning for the growth of the bridge group
- Lead individual assignments, including coordination of staff and external sub-consultants

Requirements:
- Degree in Civil Engineering and / or Structural Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution with 8+ years' experience in the design of bridge structures
- Proven technical abilities. Experience or acumen for project management an asset
- Registration in good standing as a P.Eng. in BC, or any other Canadian province or territory
- Experience with the design and analysis of structures in areas of high seismicity
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal as well as a positive, team-oriented attitude
- Proven ability to coordinate and mentor young professionals
