About the role
We are a residential housebuilder committed to delivering high-quality new homes and creating sustainable communities. We are currently seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial Team in Derby.
The role will support the commercial function by assisting Senior Quantity Surveyors in the day-to-day financial and cost management of residential development projects, ensuring effective control and reporting of all commercial activities.
Key responsibilities

Supporting the Assistant Quantity Surveyor role by assisting Senior Quantity Surveyors with procurement of subcontractor packages

Assisting with cost reporting, valuations, and financial administration under the Assistant Quantity Surveyor function

Undertaking measurement and re-measurement duties as required

Reviewing construction methods and providing input on commercial viability

Assisting in identifying and resolving commercial and cost risks
Requirements

Working towards or already holding a degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying

Experience working as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor within construction, ideally housebuilding, contracting, or consultancy

Strong understanding of cost control and commercial management principles

Able to identify issues early and support practical, cost-effective solutions

Good communication and organisational skills
