Assistant Project Manager

This is a great opportunity as an experienced Assistant Project Manager to join an expanding company on Waste Water treatment Projects with varying value.

Working within a fast-paced contracting business and covering a geographical area encompassing the Yorkshire areas of the country, you will be responsible for a number of operational and commercial functions and will work closely with our operational teams to deliver projects which succeed in terms of quality, safety and commercial aspects.

Key responsibilities for this Assistant Project Manager:

  • You will be responsible for digital work packages under the guidance of the Project Manager and will undertake the following:
  • Assisting with developing and managing project documentation, ensuring governance and processes are followed, project financial management adhered to and assisting with Health & Safety planning and activity.
  • Managing internal and third-party resources including scheduling staff and contractors to ensure successful time and cost outcomes are achieved.
  • Contributing to and supporting project reviews, monthly reports on cost, schedule, risk, quality, etc.
  • Assisting with development of project requirements and scope using the appropriate documentation depending upon delivery approach and methodology.
  • Creating and maintaining project trackers for monitoring and controlling projects across multi-sites.
  • Undertaking data analysis of projects, programme and product management information.
  • Liaising with third parties and contractors to ensure activities are coordinated.
  • Communicating and contributing to resource management database updates.
  • Identifying potential issues of under/over utilisation at a project and programme level.

Experience required for this Assistant Project Manager role:

  • A demonstrable track record of delivery of projects through the project life cycle in a supportive role to the Project Manager.
  • Excellent time management and planning skills.
  • A good understanding of different project management methodologies
  • Experience of coordinating activities to deliver projects safely, within time, cost and quality bounds.
  • Good analytical skills with a focus on attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate analysis to effect positive change outcomes.
  • Knowledge of telemetry, industrial control, PLC's, SCADA, instrumentation and automation systems would be an advantage.
  • Project Management Certification (Introductory Level ) would be desirable.
